With all the freedom and facilities you could need, enjoy a relaxing break with a drink as the sun sets across Lyme Bay and nights under a canopy of twinkling stars, with Dorset being one of the best locations in the UK for stargazing. The Park Reception has a shop with a pizza takeaway, coffee & cake, breakfast pastries, rolls & sandwiches and delicious Marshwood Vale Ice Cream. There is also a Visitor Information room to make sure you don’t miss any of the great attractions and activities you can do during your time in Dorset. The beach and Coast Path are just a few hundred metres walk from the Camping Pitches.
We have 37 Grass Pitches available for Camping in the ‘Red Hill View’ area of the Park (view the Park Map). All these Pitches are a short walk from the Shower and Toilet Block. There are numerous drinking water taps, water disposal points and bricks for BBQ located around the field. At the Shower and Toilet Block, you will also find free hairdryers, a freezer for ice blocks, a disabled toilet, washing up sinks and a laundry. All of the Grass Camping Pitches have a 10 amp electric hook-up included in the price.
There are 3 great pubs within a 15 minute walk of the Camping Pitches. There are numerous footpaths going off from the Park. These take you through the surrounding countryside and the South West Coast Path runs right past the park entrance. Take the walks east or west up to Thorncombe Beacon or Golden Cap and you will have spectacular views of the coastline.

Big Berries is a 16 acre summer camping field with beautiful views across the valley to the sea. It’s suitable for tents and VWs. The field is non-electric and very spacious. It’s perfect for groups of people to enjoy the freedom of camping holidays in Dorset. The location is also perfect for stargazing (see image below taken in Big Berries). There is a brand new Shower and Toilet Block with laundry that was completed in 2017.
Golden Cap is a dog friendly park, with great walks in all directions from the park. At the newly refurbished shower block there are showers, toilets, washing up and launderette facilities, chemical disposal and a freezer for ice blocks. Advanced bookings are essential during peak periods and a minimum of 3 nights applies. Unfortunately Gazebos, bonfires and fire pits are not permitted anywhere on the Park. Disposable BBQs must be raised off the ground using bricks supplied. Check in is from 2m with check out at 11am.
